These are the races that are born of both Daemos and Human, able to trace their kind back as far as the Daemos' first coming to the mortal world. That was how they began and many communities have formed their own unique lifestyles within the shadows. And while races of half-breeds can be quite different from each other, they all have several things in common. They are humanoid in shape, though will always have some inhuman traits. They might be as subtle as a strange, eye color or as obvious as a pair of wings sprouting from their backs. But with only two exceptions, the half-breeds have inherited their natural Glamours from their Daemos blood. That blood did not necessarily provide them with unlimited cruelty and a thirst for destruction. The only exceptions to this rule are the Vampires and the Lycanthropes, for they were originally created by disease rather than procreation, and so, they have no ability to hide behind glamours. There is one other thing that all Half-Breeds had the potential of inheriting and that is the ability to sense the Marked. They cannot locate the Marked in the same way the Daemos can, but some Half-Breeds have shown the ability to simply know when someone standing before them is Marked.

For a long time, the Half-Breeds were spread out, isolated in their own small communities around the world. But recently, they have begun feeling a massive pull towards Whitley, Massachusetts and many think it is due to the large number of Marked that seem to be gathering there.

Reproduction/Creation

The exact method of reproduction or creation varies from species to species. However, there are several basic rules that the Half-Breed race as a whole shares. They can mate with other Half-Breeds, Humans, Marked, or Daemos (rarely) when it is biologically possible. Any resulting off-spring, however, will always be 100% the race of one of their parents and always a Half-Breed. Nobody knows exactly why, but a Half-Breed's blood cannot become mixed.

The original Half-Breeds all came from some form of human/Daemos interaction. This was actually very rarely intercourse in the way human biology works. In fact, with the very important point that Daemos are not even humanoid, they are often biologically incompatible. There have been reports of Half-Breeds being "born" after a Daemos consumes a human or even through a spiritual transfer into a pregnant human woman as was the case with the first Cindalqai. The possible creation stories for different types of Half-Breeds are nearly endless.

The races listed here have all been approved at a basic level. They may or may not have been expanded enough to be added to the official list of races on the main forum. However, unless mentioned otherwise, any race listed here may be freely used in character creation.

Banshee	A violent black-widow race of shadowy women.
Bastnu	An urban feline race that lives underground
Black Dog	A race of dog shapeshifters who make deals
Chira	A kind race of humanoid-bat half breeds
Cindalqai	A subterranean, matriarchal society with a gem-based system of magic
Cyborg	Short lived race of artificially enhanced creatures.
Ghoul	Tall, pale shape-shifters that feed on fear
Incubi	Evil, male-only species said to sexually prey upon women.
Kaios	A hypnotic breed of blue-skinned half-breed that are mainly hidden in Canada.
Kitsune	A mischievous race of fox shapeshifters with light and illusion powers.
Lycanthropes	Wolf-shifters that were once human
Mermaids	An aquatic race with hypnotic voices and a wicked streak.
Muse	Faerie-like creatures who inspire artistic endeavors
Nixie	Nymphs of freshwater ponds or other bodies of freshwater.
Succubi	A demonic, female-only race of sexual predators
Undine	A race of aquatic half-breeds that turn mortal when they fall in love with a human.
Vampires	A race of biologically dead humans who consume blood
Vraaxis	cunning thieves that sell out their information to the highest bidder
Zhi Meng	A highly emotionally attuned race with the ability to summon dreams to reality
Zombie	Mindless, shambling corpses out to spread their disease.
